Henry Louis Gates: Class, Race and the End of the Social Contract

 

While on CNN, Henry Louis Gates made this statement about his arrest, "What it made me realize was how vulnerable all black men are, how vulnerable all people of color are, and all poor people to capricious forces like a rogue policeman." It’s sad, but unsurprising that Gates said exactly what I’d expect to hear from an out of touch black intellectual. Gates, for most if not all of his career has used race as a means to ascend the American class structure. Gates response shows his sudden recognition of the vulnerability of black males was his attempt to gain affinity with people he really knows nothing about. Henry Gates has about as much in common with the average every day black American as the cop that allegedly racially profiled him. I've asked several working class blacks if they knew who he was, and no one recalls ever hearing anything about him. He’s spent his career quietly nestled away at Yale, then Duke, and Harvard in his Ivory Tower acting as a racial intercessor for Eurocentric Academia. He's married a couple of white women, fathered a couple of bi-racial children. I once had a dark skinned Dominican friend tell me, "You really need to consider dating and marrying a white woman, it’s good for business. You’re less threatening when they see you with a white woman." Gates possibly having followed the line of thought has worked hard to make himself as palatable to the establishment as possible. This kind of thing wasn't supposed to happen to him. For many black middle class, and black elite, accomplishment and class identification are simply ways to differentiate themselves from the masses, from the stereotype of being poor, black, uneducated, and intellectually inferior.

In his book, "Black Bourgeoisie," E. Franklin Frazier wrote this about America’s Black Middle Class:

Having become less isolated and thus more exposed to the contempt and hostility of the white world, but at the same time cherishing the values of the white world, the new black bourgeoisie with more money at their disposal, have sought compensations in the things money can buy. Moreover, their larger incomes have enabled them to propagate false notions about their place in American life and to create a world of make-believe. (Black Bourgeoisie p. 148 -149)

Gates arrest was an affront to his perception of social class and racial ascension. It popped his make-believe class bubble. He'd gotten the degree, the title, the money, a white woman, and to be treated like a common Negro angered him. Yet, he really couldn’t pull the class card, no that would have made him seem too arrogant, too pompous, or as put in the south, a bit too uppity. He needed grass roots support, and this meant pulling the race card, and directing his anger at a cop of a lower class rather than at his neighbor with whom he believes he has class parity. But to gain attention for his affront he needed to show solidarity with the masses.

The class question becomes even more evident when you look at the complicity of the media. Yes, his ego was bruised, but should the media have provided additional coverage. I laughed at his sudden awareness of the vulnerability of the average black male. I never heard his calls for activism recently for the 5 year old black child who was molested and pimped by his homosexual adoptive father who just happens to be a Duke University official. Nor did I hear calls for a possible documentary or blue ribbon panel discussions for the Black Emergency Medical Technician in Oklahoma who was assaulted by a police officer on tape while driving a patient to the hospital.

Gates is using affinity fraud to further his own self interest and the affirmation of class. Affinity Fraud is essentially a scam where a perpetrator attempts to exploit a racial or ethnic demographic by espousing commonality with the targeted group. It’s a way to gain trust and support based on race, which eventually leads to the group repeatedly voting against the own self interest due to racial affinity.

The question is how would supporting Gates in a mass political protest help the average black American? It doesn’t, but it would surely make Gates feel better. The thing that Gates and many middle and upper class Americans don’t realize is the masses don’t care anymore.

Generally, a politician always has to appear as a man or woman of the people. It’s usually a smooth or outgoing individual that kisses babies, and presses the flesh. Among the black elite, it tends to be the Obamas’, Adrian Fenty’, Anthony Williams’, and the Cory Booker types who have hoodwinked the population into continued support of corporatarcy based on racial affinity.

When you look at it from the perspective of race, Obama and George Bush have a lot in common. Obama and George Bush are 11th cousins. Neither is a man of any real accomplishment, both benefited from connections, Bush through his daddy, Obama by being the pet Negro of Zbigniew Brzezinskisince his days at Columbia University. But somehow these two men were able to convince the masses of both poor and middle class blacks and whites, that their fates were intertwined, that since I look like you and talk like you, that I wouldn’t screw you. George Bush even though he’s a blue blood, convinced white America to vote for him twice, simply by speaking in a Texas accent and walking with the redneck swagger. Obama, also a blue blood through his mother, perpetrated the cool brother with the slick-citied countenance of a televangelist. By doing this, Bush was able to hand out billions in no-bid contracts over eight years at tax payer expense. Meanwhile, Obama has been able to dole out almost 24 trillion in bailout funds to banks and corporations under the guise of "Change". Right now, I think Bernie Madoff would be proud of both of them because theyhave the gift, that charisma that all good confidence men need to hook and string along a mark for years if necessary, until they’re bled dry.

But out of the Gates controversy, I also realize that the ability to perpetrate affinity fraud is coming to an end. The faith in the social contract is broken. The idea of the social contract necessitates that the masses submit to the framework of a government in exchange for certain perks. Typically, this would be infrastructure and economic opportunity, or the perception of opportunity. In exchange, the masses abide by the laws and submit to the class structure, with the unspoken idea that with hard work anybody can move up the class structure. It’s comes down to I scratch your back, and then you scratch mine. This usually this came in the form of crumbs, maybe a community center, maybe a park. But now "Then" never occurs anymore, just the promise of change during a new election cycle.

The masses are no longer buying into the illusion of community and upward mobility. For the black population, the black Elite broke the Social Contract in 1964 by abandoning the masses to become racial intercessors for academia, government, and corporations. They didn’t pay attention to the influx of heroin, gangs, crack, cocaine, and unemployment that have festered since Jim Crow ended. The children of these masses now have no commonality with the average Black Elite. When trying to survive in a largely dysfunctional environment, it comes down to every man for himself.

Now when I go to Wal-mart, I realize Black Americans as we like to think of ourselves won’t be around anymore. We’re disappearing into the new beige underclass, a mix of blacks, poor whites, and Hispanics. The upper class fail to realize that race based wedges issues won’t work much longer. In the small town where I live, poor whites, blacks, and Hispanics all live in the same projects, slums, and trailer parks all owned by a few old families. Poor whites, blacks, and Hispanics are waking up to the common culture of being broke. Poor white use to be entitled to factory work, maybe even move up to shift manager it they cleaned up enough, but even those opportunities are gone. Now if they’re lucky all they have to look forward to a job in which hopefully the hours are long, the pay is low, and no health benefits. Not a career, but a job with no inkling of upward mobility, especially if you don't have a certificate of achievement from a local community college in EMT, Law Enforcement, or Nursing Assistant.

In the old class structure, the better educated and better employed were looked up to as default or natural leadership in communities. Back in the day, just having a place within the community was enough, be it being a nigger, poor white, or a spic, they all had a part to play in the community, under a well enforced caste system. This old model doesn’t work anymore. Communities don't exist anymore due to small town fascism in which old money families jump between private ownership in and around town and positions in local government. They carved up towns and cities along socioeconomic lines versus race. When they did this, they let the poor see each other for the first time. They consolidated poverty.

The Beige underclass doesn’t care about race or class so much anymore, they’ve bought into corporate of profit at all cost. It’s all about whose got it, and how do I get it, to hell with social responsibility and community. This is the basis for the growing resentment of class and wealth disparity which will create unbelievable violence in the future. Under the old social contract, the rich at least knew to throw the poor a bone, decent wages, the chance to have what most would call a decent life with human dignity.

Gates is using old-think when crying to a group that really doesn’t know and doesn’t care who he is. In old think, the middle and upper class traditionally lead revolution and change. Now such people are looked at the least viewed with suspicion, if not marks for crime.

The recent murder of Byrd and Melanie Billings in Pensacola, Florida is a prime example of coming class warfare. This hit team of poor whites and blacks executed a well planned home invasion. They didn't care that the Billings were white, well known and respected members of the community. As the Greatest Depression worsens and America falls further into third world status, this type of crime based on class will become more common. As the social safety nets are cut, as is currently being done in California, people will begin to ask themselves the question, why abide by the social contract if you get nothing out of it. If I get caught, I go to jail and at least get three hots and a cot. If I do nothing, I simply live hand to mouth, hoping crumbs will fall. All I have to do is rob and kill rich people who don’t care if I live or die.

The mistake that Gates and many politicians are making is they continue to believe they can call up racial affinity on demand. The gulf between the poor and upper class is now too wide to be bridged by race alone. You’ve either got money or you don’t. What you have forming now among the masses are the foundations of new 21st century barbarians, they don’t care about political activism, social responsibility, or patriotism, or rules of any kind. In the end they’re not too different in thinking from the corporate models that have exploited them for so long. In such an environment, this the probable response he’d get from the average black man, "Player, your struggle ain’t mine, don’t come crying to me when shit changes up on you."

Global Land Grab!

Around 1920, African Americans owned around 15 million acres of farmland. As of the year 2000, African Americans own less than 2 million acres. With the falling value of the dollar, Saudi Arabia, China, and Kuwait are now using their holdings of depreciating U.S. dollars to buy up tangible assets such as farmland. Once this wealth transfer is complete, the American people in general, as well as African Americans will be renters in their own country. Meaning, that most Americans will never again have access to the education, capital investment, or the opportunity to purchase land. These nations are buying up large tracts of land for two reason:

1. Each nation needs a means to feed their growing populations. America still has large tracts of farm land at low prices. Once this land is purchase by foreign entities, it will never be available for sale again.

2. The surplus food crops can also be sold in the world commodities market to the highest bidder. This means Americans will struggle to find food to buy, and if they do locate it, they will pay much more for it.

Clinging to a Crumbling Matrix

 

What is reality? Reality is defined as “the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.” America prides itself on being a nation of realists, people that strive for truth, justice etc… Yet when I talk to many Americans they have no idea what’s going on in the world around them. But it seems that everyone has plugged into their own private matrix of reality. A simple definition of a matrix is defined as something that constitutes the place or point from which something else originates, takes form, or develops. A better definition of American reality is a blend of phenomenological reality and consensus reality. Phenomenological reality is life as seen or experienced by one individual, thus shaping their unique idea of what reality is or as they see it.[1] They have formed their own definition of how the world works and in that, their own idea of truth.  Now when a group of people find some commonality in their phenomenological realities, and they then verbally or non-verbally agree to a common idea of truth or what is truth as they have seen it or experienced, they have at that moment created a consensus reality, hence the formation of our matrix we call American Democracy.

 

The founding fathers had a consensus view of truth and freedom void of the idea of fairness which is defined as being free from bias, dishonesty, or injustice. These are men who accepted reality as it was fed to them by their environment, family, and larger culture.  They were unable or unwilling to critically assess reality with an unbiased and analytical mindset to get to the truth of a matter. And even if they did see or feel some sense of hypocrisy or injustice they complied with injustice for their own self preservation and advantage.  This mindset that so easily acquiesced to the commonly held belief that some people beings are more human than others also created our traditional consensus reality (history) which is the backbone of our current matrix which we call the United States of America and representative democracy.  For America to see itself in context other than its traditional consensus reality means America has a deep seated conflict with its true identity, with its true self.

The American or rather human inability to deal with reality comes across in an article by Sherwood Ross entitled, "Has America Become Fascist?" in which he cites recent signals of fascism under the Bush administration.  He also cites Naomi Wolf on several occasions in her new book, "The End of America." Both Ross and Wolf both work from the largely Eurocentric assumption that America was ever anything other than a fascist nation. Their phenomenological reality alters their ability to assess America’s historical pattern due the Eurocentric position they were born into in America and their own personal inability to impartially analyze their own assumptions. Every race in America has its own unique GUI (graphic user interface).  Both Ross and Wolf are waking up to reality, waking up from the traditional America GUI  framed within the prospective of being born white into the American Matrix called the American Dream.  

The American ethos of the pursuit of happiness, the right to free speech, and the right to bear arms, the tenants of “Democracy” that Americans hold faith in versus the dark governmental policies that have historically made America work is something we cannot seem to reconcile within ourselves.  Americans don’t want to see the code behind the American GUI; the worker bees in the kitchens of fine restaurants, the hotel cleaning person, the poor soldiers coming home in caskets, or young men and women in uniform with arms and legs blown off.  They don’t want to know the details of the Chiquita Banana War, and the plethora of small wars carried out by government contracted corporate mercenaries.

America loves its Phenomenological reality.  Take for instance drug use, Americans are the biggest consumers of illegal drugs in the world.  But we don’t want to see the damage to third world countries, urban ghettos, and rural trailer parks with their meth labs and crack houses. Americans simply want to get high, real high; all they want to see is a nice little bag of powdered cocaine, heroine, or meth with no thought of the human cost that went into its production.

Fascism is defined as a system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.  The only part I will add to this definition is the merging of corporate interest with governmental policy and control, typically referred to in doublespeak as a public/private partnership.

From the perspective of a person of color, America has always been a fascist nation.  America in the context of empire and hegemony, did everything right; killing and subjugating the indigenous people originally on the land, developing a free labor class of black slaves to work the land, and a largely white and uneducated proletariat to manage the empire’s daily affairs and fight its wars. This was all done through the co-mingling of corporate interest with governmental policy and funding. This is the definition of fascism.  This was done while also espousing an American mythology/ideology of patriotism and Christianity that reinforced the idea that America was the divine manifestation of Eurocentric Christian values. It then set about industrializing the nation using its vast national resources by exploiting cheap European immigrant labor in unsafe conditions, whom when they organized and protested, were squelched by government intervention when prodded by corporations under the guise of protecting free market capitalism. In the American south, Jim Crow maintained a cheap and compliant agriculturally-based labor force.  Complicit in this development was America’s burgeoning middle class (Quigley’s Petty Bourgeoisie) who were instrumental in the maintaining of fascism better known as the “American Way of Life.” In 1966, Historian Carroll Quigley wrote this about America’s petty bourgeoisie fascist leanings:

The second most numerous group in the United States is the petty bourgeoisie, including millions of persons who regard themselves as middle class and are under all the middle-class anxieties and pressures, but often earn less money than unionized laborers. As a result of these things, they are often very insecure, envious, filled with hatred, and are generally the chief recruits of the radical right, Fascist, or hate campaigns against any group that is different or which refuses to conform to middle-class values. Made up of clerks, shopkeepers, and vast numbers of office workers in business, government, finance, and education, these tend to regard their white-collar status as the chief value of life, and live in an atmosphere of envy, pettiness, insecurity, and frustration. They form the major portion of the Republican Party’s supporters in the towns of America, as they did for the Nazis in Germany thirty years ago. (Tragedy and Hope, page 1243-1244)

Even so, facing up to the real America behind the GUI would mean the end of reality as we know it: nail shops, sushi bars, lattes; the normal benign normalcy of strip malls, pop culture, gadgets, movies, and reality television.  But deep in our collective subconscious we know the party is over. We are afraid to face a future that each of us helped to create. Peak Oil, Climate Change, Economic collapse, we have all played a part in creating the factors that will eventually lead to our demise as a nation.  Our matrix is crumbling around us, yet we want the illusion that things don’t change, that today was just like yesterday and tomorrow will probably be the same as today.

But America’s problems are beyond its control with massive trade and federal deficits; multiple wars, social dysfunction, and a growing underclass.  The US government is borrowing money from foreigners with all the added value of a crack addicted whore offering toothless blowjobs in exchange for her next high.  Meanwhile Wall Street hustlers who made unfunded bets on which way the economy will go to the order of trillions of dollars beg for and get handouts.  The American mantra has always been that America goes down on no one, everyone goes down on America. Well America the reality is that in the future many citizens better be ready to get on their knees.

 

Obama also represents to most people a hope that things can get back to normal, yet at the same time does represent a certain amount of change to the matrix, and in that I mean the variables of color and patriarchy.  The American matrix mandates that life is suppose to operate in one way.  This faith in popular consensus consists of ideas of history, class, race, and power has been shaken of late.  Massive deficits, war, social dysfunction, and economic decline are frightening those who formally could not conceive of an American reality other than the GUI of supremacy.

Yet Obama does hit a psychosexual component of the matrix; that of the diminishing white male patriarchy. Obama was born of a white woman and sired by an African man. The deep-seated psychosexual component is the fear that the white male patriarchy will decline or die out.  His mother being white American female broke a cardinal rule of the matrix to not reproduce with inferiors, yet Obama is by no means an inferior person, which adds another layer to the variable, if Obama is not inferior, but not of pure European ancestry, what does that say about the necessity and superiority of the white patriarchy? 

I once did a radio call on a show in which a gentleman told me a story of his grandmother witnessed in 1940s Arkansas. He spoke of a white foreman who essentially raped the wife of one of his field hands on a daily basis.  When the field hands would go home for lunch, this man would find the white foreman’s horse tie up outside of his shack.  The black man had to wait until the white foreman was done screwing his wife before he could enter his own house.  If he killed that white man which he probably felt like doing, the town would have colluded to kill the man and release the white man (with federal, state, and local blessings) under the guise of self defense.  This shameful truth about what has occurred in America is what quantifies Michelle Obama’s statement about being proud of her country for the first time. This also feeds into the psychosexual elements inflamed by the McCain campaign; the fear of payback, of a new alpha male patriarchy which conflicts with the historic American matrix.

It's November now, and traditionally hog killing time. On the plantation, hog killing time took place in November or December, depending on the cold needed to cool the freshly killed hogs.  The slaves would kill, scald, and gut the pigs in mass for winter meat. The choicest piece of the pig, the pork loin went to the master of the house. The choicest pieces always went to the master.  The slaves got the guts or intestines, the chittlings, the scraps their masters didn’t want. Soul food is really based on making the best of circumstances beyond one’s control.  To slaves, fresh chittlings were seen as a delicacy, and still are to this day in many parts of the south. This adds a symbolic element to Obama’s campaign and presidency, in that the true owners of this country have already divided up the hog and he’s being handed a fresh bucket of warm stinking, fecal filled chittlings, the leftovers of America, where the choicest parts of America’s wealth, value, and usefulness have been picked clean and devoured.

 

THE FIGHT TO MAINTAIN THE AMERICAN GUI

 

"The Matrix is a system, and that system is our enemy. When you are inside it, you look around and what do you see? Businessmen, Teachers, Lawyers, Carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are part of that system and that makes them our enemies. You have to understand that most of these people are not ready to be `unplugged`. And many are so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to defend it." Morpheus, The Matrix

 

When Obamaniacs came to my door, they were typically middle age white men and women, campaigning for "Change."  I usually blew them off. They seemed surprised that I'm not thrilled that a black man is close to being president of the United States, but I say it wouldn't mean anything if America had simply upheld the values it espoused.  At that response I was typically met with silence.

 

Now we have “In Obama we trust,” and in him America now clings to the matrix by her finger tips, hoping for a form of "change" that is not so radical as reality calls for, but “change” that will allow us to return to the selfish, self absorbed, narcissistic people we've always been. This is hope in Obama, that at the end of the day his “Change” will only amount to a few tweaks which equated to a crying toddler’s pleadings of “fix it” to a parent so they the child can get over this traumatic inconvenience and back to a life of play.

 

It's about maintaining the status quo, it's about not having to look behind the GUI, and remaining plugged into the matrix, plugged in to the giant pyramid scheme where some slick guy at the top convinces the bottom of the pyramid to believe in his system, his matrix, and with time, effort, and energy they will each get the chance to be at the top of his or her own pyramid. Think about the big three automakers, Big Pharma, Big Agriculture, Insurance, Banking, etc. They all essentially decided to gobble up market share to suppress competition and innovation. By maintaining a large consumer base that perpetually spends it money on a myriad of industries run by small elite cartel corporations they insure that no one really climbs up the pyramid.

 

The American consensus reality, the GUI of the matrix, formally known as the American dream, of suburbs, easy credit, racism, sexism, feminism, multiculturalism, political correctness, and classism are all programs designed to artificially supports the idea that we are all special and autonomous individuals when in actuality we are all dependent upon the  matrix for that very sense of autonomy. People now live in their own virtual pods of independence and autonomy.  It’s a form of virtual existentialism in which the matrix preoccupies us with contrived obstacles, challenges, thrills (bungee cord jumping, skydiving, swimming with sharks, illegal drug use, sex addiction) to provide us with a sense of significance to our lives.

 

But the fear that conjures up America’s hope in Obama is really a fear of change. It’s akin to the angst techies feel when they are forced to leave Windows 2003 behind for the upgrade to Windows 2007.  They worry about the bugs in the system and functionality. Rather than change, they’d prefer what they already know, Windows 2003 with a few patches.  They want the economy back on track. They want family values, the return of high home values, 401ks, mutual funds, $1 beers, condom free sex, cheap porn, plentiful drugs, EZ credit financing of RVs, second homes, boats, and timeshares.

In a symbolic sense, Obama may be America’s Morpheus, albeit a bit coquettish, but he has to be given that he now must lead  a nation of 300 million Neos’ contently asleep in high-fructose corn syrup filled embryonic sacks, oblivious to reality, intravenously fed mass media and virtual experiences through multiple umbilical cords.  We can no longer support this artificially high standard called American life based on the consumption of imported goods bought with imported debt.Whether we like it or not, America is now in the slow process of a collective unplugging. We no longer have the choice between the red or the blue pill.  But I think the American people and Obama have vastly different ideas of what change means.  Yet we collectively pin our hopes on Obama’s ability to maintain the matrix with a few social programming tweaks. His ideas of inclusiveness are simply feel good rhetoric that espouses expanding the matrix, by making the American GUI more user-friendly to a large base of people that simply came too late to the party, and those that thought the party would never end.

The social contract that has existed between the Power Elite and middle class is now null and void. Those that control the matrix no longer need the faith or the energy of humanity to maintain the matrix, making most of us, and the matrix that we so precariously cling to, unnecessary. Our GUI is being dismantled and upgraded without our permission, and we don’t like it.  We don’t want a future reality of deprivation, sacrifice, future-preference, and abstention. Obama, whether we know it or not, may be our guide into a new world, into an unwanted paradigm shift of our consensus reality to a “reality” that does not encompass ease, convenience, and plenty. It is similar to the moment when Neo is yanked from his pod and like a newborn baby he opens his eyes and the first thing he sees is Morpheus who says, “Welcome to the real world.”

Trailer Parks, Projects, and Section 8: The Foundation of America's New Beige Underclass

Recently I had the opportunity to meet Deer Hunting with Jesus author, Joe Bageant and some really nice Sociology professors at Virginia Commonwealth University. After reading Joe's book, I find myself in disbelief at the parallels between the permanent poor white underclass, black Americans, and Hispanics. Below is a list of parallel issues:

1. Strong anti-intellectualism - Learning  is seen as elitist or of little use among groups that spring from America's historic manual labor caste. This pride in lower socioeconomic identity is strongly attached to physicality of various types such as toughness, athleticism, and violence.

2. Deep-seated narcissistic personality disorder which is a fragile and deep seated inferiority complex masked as over-confidence or bravado. (See Source) Among poor white, black, and Hispanic men lies the common need to gain or maintain one's reputation at the slightest sign of disrespect. Among poor white men, the hard-bitten redneck ethos is common. Among Hispanic men it is called "Machismo, and among Black men is it called "Respect." Violence among all three groups is the normal means to protect an individual's self image.

3. Dysfunctional family structure with the similar pathologies that will effect successive generations:

• A growing number of out-of-wedlock births:  25% for White females, 50% for Hispanic females, and 70% for Black females and a subsequent increase in the number of single parent households
• Heavy alcohol and illegal drug abuse 
• High rates of domestic violence
• Low-emphasis on education and high drop-out rates

There is an observable increase in the  number of unmarried mixed-race couples from the lower socio-economic spectrum that share a common culture of social dysfunction, narcissism, and anti-intellectualism.  The merging of these three groups is laying the foundation for a new permanent underclass of beige people with a common, yet destructive culture of dysfunction that is guaranteed to keep them economically and socially disenfranchised.

The Economic Collapse of America and the North American Union

Here is an overview of why the markets are helter skelter.

1. Banks created billions in new mortgages which were chopped up and repackaged into CDO (collateralized debt obligations) and then resold to various domestic and international investors. These mortgages have gone bad. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were bailed out by the Fed for about 5 trillion dollars, which is half of the US mortgage industry.

2. Credit Default Swaps and Derivatives (see source) amount to about 500 trillion in unfunded bet/insurance on the volatility of sub-prime mortgages and various commodities. Banks and corporations made these bets off their books. No one is really sure who and how much individuals owe to one another causing interbank lending to freeze up.

3. To resuscitate interbank lending the Fed is printing and lending billions of dollars to retail, commercial, and investment banks to jump start the system. It isn't working. The banks are borrowing cheap money and and sitting on it to cover the off-the-books losses from credit default swaps and derivatives. The Fed's endless printing and lending of cheap money is going to create hyperinflation.

 4. The Fed and the Treasury are working overtime to convince foreign lenders to rollover government debt. China, our biggest lender has stated that it will buy less US debt from here on out.  The US public only sees 11 trillion in outstanding debt. America's true outstanding debt is around 55 trillion.  America has no way of paying this money back.

5. When America can no longer refinance, it will default on its debt. The dollar will collapse.  Couple this with China, Russia, and Middle Eastern nations selling their US dollars and treasury bonds, and you very quickly have America at third world status. Most Americans will fall into deep poverty.

6. If and when America is instructed to restructure its debt obligations, it will be in a new currency called the Amero, and under a new economic entity (encompassing Canada, America, and Mexico) called the (NAU) North American Union. America as we know it will no longer exist.

Poll: Racial views steer some white Dems away from Obama

A Stanford University poll finds that 40% of all white Americans have negative views toward black Americans. Below is a list of adjectives used in the poll to rate white Americans perception of black Americans.

These are the major points that I gather from this poll:

1. White Americans have deep-seated racial stereotypes that they will not relinquish. They are quite comfortable with their racial perceptions and therefore have subconsciously passed it on to successive generations. The poll also suggest that racial prejudice of whites toward blacks may be even higher stating that more than half of white Americans may have negative views of blacks.

2. At the root of this racial prejudice is a collective narcissistic personality disorder among a significant percentage of the white American population. The Mayo Clinic defines narcissism as a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. They believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

3. This narcissistic personality disorder has left much of middle class, blue collar, and white trash America with the illusion that because they are white that their fates are intertwined with the white captains of industry who are currently destroying America. This inflated sense of self importance is based simply on being white. They still don't understand that simply being white is no longer enough.

4. Obama even with his education and accomplishments cannot escape the racial perceptions America has built over its two hundred years of history. Nor can white Americans understand Michelle Obama's statement, "That for the first time she is proud of her country." Many white Americans reacted with hyper-sensitivity to this criticism. But is displays white America's refusal to look at or have regard for other peoples history and feelings which is a classic symptom of this collective narcissistic personality disorder. It also proves that white America has a very fragile self image which explains the backlash to her statement. 

5. What does this mean? It means that America has not come as far as it would like to believe. Obama no matter what he does, will not be accepted by this voting population. It also means that America's resistance to true assimilation of its minority population unless in the context of white America's racist perceptions will end up being a major reason for America's inevitable collapse as a nation-state.
